Dragonfly Data Factory World Wide Tech Summit and Hackathon

Dragonfly Data Factory held its first Tech Summit and Hackathon in Hyderabad India January 26-Feb 5 2015.

A team of 35 participants from the United States and India, including project managers, big data architects, user interface designers and product specialists collaborated intensively on a number of software development projects. Hackathons typically last between a day and a week but this one was an extended duration event, held over a two week period in the heart of Hyderabad's Hi-Tech City. The participants were challenged to further drive innovation in the Dragonfly Data Factory framework and product offering.

“It was an exciting two week event, bringing together top notch technical minds on real-time Bigdata Hadoop technologies” Ram Pothula, Founder and CEO of Dragonfly Data Factory said. “We were able to identify and attract some promising new Bigdata talent and at the same time, advance the development and flex the capabilities of our framework.”

Some hackathons are intended simply for educational or social purposes, although in many cases the goal is to create usable software. Hackathons tend to have a specific focus, and this one was no different.

“We had a lot of energy in the room,” Pothula said, “and we all enjoyed the collaboration and sharing of techniques toward meeting the challenges clients face with mining, managing and monetizing Bigdata.”

Dragonfly plans future events like this one to capitalize on the success we enjoyed in Hyderabad.
